ABOUT CHRISTOPHER CANNEDY
Not disappointments, but invitations.
There came a point in my life when I learned the difference between seeing life’s inevitable challenges as disappointments and seeing them instead as invitations. I began to understand that often these challenges are a hint that the life meant to be is no longer being lived. The idea that "the current moment, the current environment has served its purpose and it's time to grow" eventually took hold as my new momentum. I learned the value of pausing to ask: "What is this moment trying to teach me? What kind of growth is being offered to me right now?" I've come to recognize these threshold moments, resisting the urge of a fight-or-flight instinct. I've learned the value of a pause, a breath, a prayer, and waiting for a response not from animal instinct, but from the Spirit dwelling within us.
Creation doesn't always begin with addition; sometimes it begins with release.
THE BEGINNING INSIDE THE ENDING
There are moments when wisdom is found not in forcing the next step, but in learning to move with the life already unfolding beneath us.
The words and photographs on this site stem from the same practice: paying attention—to the land, to the changing seasons, to persistent questions, and to the quiet moments that often reveal the most truth.
Every photograph featured on this site is my own.
The landscapes here—the red rocks of Sedona and the wide, wild places of the American Southwest—have been profound teachers. They remind me to be present, to stay curious, and to trust in a larger rhythm, even when the path ahead is unclear.
THE MEANING OF AWAKENING PATH
Awakening Path is a space for those moving through change – for anyone who has ever stood at a threshold, unsure of what comes next, but still willing to stay open. It is an invitation to live a little more awake, a little more present, and a little more attuned to the beauty and wisdom that can be found, even in the in-between.
“The hour has come for you to wake from sleep.”
